Did you know Medicare and many private health funds are now covering telehealth consultations?
Telehealth consultations (i.e. video conferencing) have always been an important service provided by Podiatrists for people that had difficulty coming into a clinic for treatment, however with the advent of the Corona Virus, it has become crucial that people have the ability to safely and easily access remote diagnosis and treatment of their foot health issues from home.
Due to the increased importance of social distancing from the Corona Virus, Medicare and a large number of private health funds now cover telehealth consultations. If you need an appointment with an experienced Podiatrist, but have concerns or difficulty in travelling to your clinic, then we recommend you consider a telehealth consultation.
I am not great with technology, how easy is it to access a telehealth session on my phone or laptop?
Booking a telehealth session with Bellevue Podiatry is very easy and secure. Whether you book yourself in online or call our Reception to make a telehealth appointment, you will be emailed a link to click on from your mobile device or laptop when your appointment is scheduled to start.
It’s that simple, no need to log in, no need to download any applications, just click the link we provide you when the appointment starts. Safe, simple and secure.
What are the various types of foot issues you can assist with over a telehealth session?

How do telehealth consultations work? How do you treat a condition like heel pain?
One of the most important components of resolving heel pain is to accurately diagnose the root cause of your heel pain, and then developing an effective treatment plan to get rid of your heel pain once and for all.
Fortunately, both accurate diagnosis and developing effective treatment plans can be provided through telehealth consultations – whether it is reviewing X-rays or running you through a list of specific questions, determining the root cause of your heel pain, and the level of your injury, is confirmed through a dialogue between the patient and Podiatrist.
Once we do this, we can then develop a tailored treatment plan to resolve your foot health issue, for example, we can confirm the condition of your heel pain, what caused it, and what exercises and stretches you can implement to resolve it.
Telehealth consultations allow you to get the treatment you need from the safety and comfort of your own home for a wide range of foot health issues. You don't need to put up with your foot health issues any longer, book in for a telehealth consultation.
If you’re unsure whether a telehealth consult is appropriate for your foot health issue, please give us a call on (03) 9457 2336 and one of our experienced Podiatrists will discuss your situation with you first. You can also book yourself in online if you are happy to proceed.
